As part of its Corporate Responsibility (CR) Week, AXA Insurance has launched the ‘Bounce for Good’ challenge to encourage Singaporeans to support and celebrate people bouncing back from adversity and inspire the larger community in Singapore to do the same. In addition, Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) and SportCares Foundation are joining hands with AXA as its designated CR partners. Both charitable organisations have missions around empowerment, which aligns with AXA’s mission to empower people to live better lives. In this year-long partnership, both charities will be the designated beneficiaries for the ‘Bounce for Good’ challenge and will collectively receive up to S$50,000.

The ‘Bounce for Good’ challenge runs from now till 31 July 2018 and Singaporeans are invited to share photos and videos of themselves doing any action involving a bounce – including jumping, leaping or skipping – on Facebook or Instagram (posts must be made public) with the hashtag #AXABounceForGood and tagging AXA Singapore. AXA will donate S$1 for every video or image posted and has committed to donate up to a total of S$50,000.
How did ‘Bounce for Good’ come about?
The challenge is part of a wider campaign, Bounce Back Stronger, which came together following AXA’s Better Beyond Survey conducted early this year. The survey provided insights on consumers’ awareness and attitudes towards critical illness insurance products in Singapore. The findings revealed Singaporeans’ lack of understanding and preparedness for the financial implications of critical illnesses, showing that only 52% owned critical illness insurance despite close to 9 out of 10 saying that they’ll likely have the chance of being diagnosed with critical illnesses before turning 65.
“Supporting people when they’re in trouble is the purpose of insurance. AXA is taking that a step further to also ensure we are responsible corporate citizens, and we support local communities,” said Jean Drouffe, CEO of AXA Insurance.
This prompted the kick-off of the Bounce Back Stronger campaign and that is also why the Singapore Cancer Society was chosen as a designated charity. As a long established cancer charity, SCS focuses on minimising the impact of cancer through awareness and presentation, and supports those impacted by cancer. SportsCare, on the other hand, is a growing national movement that activates sports for social good by empowering the at-risk and vulnerable in our community to live better.
Albert Ching, CEO of Singapore Cancer Society remarked, “Through this partnership, we strive to support cancer survivors to bounce back stronger.” While Sport Singapore’s CEO, Lim Teck Yin, added, “We are thankful to AXA for their shared belief in SportCares’ efforts in encouraging people to live better through sport and physical activity.”
